The mission of the NROTC is to develop Midshipmen, Officer Candidates, and MECEPs mentally, morally and physically, and to instill in them the highest ideals of honor, courage, and commitment in order to commission college graduates as Naval officers who possess a basic professional background, are motivated towards careers in the Naval service, and have potential for future development in mind and character so as to assume the highest ideals of command, citizenship, and government.

The Company here at the University of Arizona is made up of a terrific mix of over 100 students: students from high schools around the country; scholarship students coming directly from the Fleet; and Sailors and Marines on active duty in the STA-21 and MECEP programs. This mix provides a unique environment where academics, physical training, and leadership training are heavily flavored with the experiences of the Fleet.
